 2) 23 Feb 1836 - Benjamin White to James Cunningham for land in Bealsville (witnessed by Elizabeth Tomlinson and William Lawrence).
 3) 7 Jan 1839 - Daniel Gray and wife to James Cunningham for land in Graysville (witnessed by Washington Palluson and James Gray).
  According to clippings in the Spirit of Democracy, James Cunningham was give guardianship in Aug 1840 of Amanda Jane Smith and Elizabeth Catherine Smith, the orphaned children of James Smith. Later in 1849, a petition was filed against David and Mahala JOHN by James Cunningham on the children's behalf for lot #8 in Woodsfield.
  After James' death, a petition was filed to stop Christian Kettle from purchasing James' land by Susannah and Benjamin Lewis, Margaret A. Cunningham, James W. Cunningham, Joseph H.M. Cunningham, Katheleen and Mathias Burbacher, and Cephas Cunningham.
