Jennie Josephine married John Eli Svensen Feb. 2, 1905. From her
obits. I learned that she played the organ in her church, the
Methodist Church of Boxholm. They lived in Pilot Mound, IA for
the first three years of their marriage when they moved to a
farm east of Dana and lived there until 1948. I remember that
farm when we would make trips from CA to IA. It seems to me that
Rua and Dale lived at that farm when Jennie and John moved into
Dana in 1948. I remember the narrow stairway to get upstairs and
how cold the bedroom up there was. I suppose we, my sister and
I, went to bed and the folks and relatives were still visiting
downstairs. The obits says that when Jennie died in 1954 her
sisters Mary Erickson, Anna Stark and Carrie Thorngren were all
still living. It also said that brothers Lee and Fred were still
living. It also said that brother Henry and sister Esther Adams
had preceeded her in death. It also said that her twin sister,
Nellie Julander, had died less that a year ago and this is what
I already showed too, since Nellie died July 17, 1953. This was
all information I already have but it was good to see it in the
obits that I had saved in one of my old scrapbooks. Jennie died
of stomach cancer. That was the only time I ever saw my father,
Lowell Fredrick Swansen cry.
