"I also note that from the Library of Virginia archives there was a Corporal Womack Blankenship who served during the War of Revolution with Military certificate number: LO 571. The certificates were numbered 1-9926 and cover the period July 14, 1782 - August 5, 1876.This Womack would have been about 8 years old in 1775 when hostilities broke out with the British.
