Note: Served in the Navy during WW2 aboard a minesweeper in the Pacific and the Philippines. Was a Radarman. Worked, as warehousing manager for Thalheimer's Department Store in Richmond, VA for many years. Later worked at post office until he retired. Loved baseball and, as a younger man, played both baseball, and church-league fast pitch softball. In the 1980s he experienced some minor strokes (TIAs) but remained in good physical health until 1990, when a more serious TIA necessitated nursing home care. He died in the hospital on September 20, 1990, of an abdominal aneurysm.
