a. Note:   sons. In 1850 Joseph farmed in Blue River Township, Henry Co., IN (page 199); the value of his property was $6,000. In 1850 he farmed in Blue River Township (page 162) with his wife Lucinda and 6 children; his land was worth $14,000 with personal assets of $2,000. In 1870 he farmed in Blue River Township (page 1) with his wife Lucinda and sons Pleasant and John and domestic servants Sarah Hoover, age 14, and Emma Hoover, age 11, both born in PA; the value of his real estate was $12,200.00 and personal assets at $1,000.00.
  Joseph and Lucinda were among the original 66 members who founded the Hillsboro Church of Christ
 on The Little Blue River, Hillsboro, Prairie Township, Henry County, IN in 1840. Joseph was a pioneer axe maker of Eastern Indiana.
