a. Note:   After his first eight children were born, Robert enlisted on Nov. 16, 1862 with the military forces to serve the North in its fight against the South during the Civil War. He enlisted for a period of three years to serve with the Thirty-Ninth Kentucky Infantry's Company B. He was mustered February. 16, 1863, at Peach Orchard (Pikeville), KY. He deserted Aug. 11, 1864; but he was returned February. 7, 1865. Consequently, Robert was sentenced by General Court Martial (GCM to forfeit all pay and cost to February. 7, 1865, and good time lost.
  Robert T. Hall was born 1824 probably in Floyd County Kentucky. He was the son of Jesse Hall and Nancy Elliott. Robert first married Nancy Akers in Pike County on February 5, 1846. Nancy was the daughter of David Akers and Elizabeth Collier. Nancy may have died because Robert remarried to Arrilda Bentley. Robert died in 1879 and is buried on Branham Creek in Floyd County.
