Note: Died of a form of Lung Cancer. Homer attended high school in Rotan, Texas. He received his high school diploma in 1943 after joining the Navy during WWII. In high school he played football and basketball among other sports. He was in Boy Scouts and attained the highest level, Eagle Scout. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1950 with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Crouse Hinds, a manufacturer of electrical products for 36 years before he retired. He was highly respected in his field. Homer loved the game of golf. He carried his clubs wherever he went. He played golf all over the US and in some other countries of the world. He was a perfectionist. Shortly after his death he received an invitation from President George Bush to join the Republican Inner Circle.1 _TITLE Notes
