  SOUTH BEND - Helen M. Barna, 77, of Aberdeen Court, died Tuesday in her home, of natural causes. Survivors include her husband, John J.; two daughters, Janet Hall of South Bend and Karen Petsovich of Bridgman; and two sisters, Mary Kalil and Josephine Creevey, both of Mishawaka. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Jude Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a wake prayer service will be at 7 p.m.

 Helen M. Barna (July 30, 1922 - Sept. 14, 1999)
  Helen M. Barna, 77, of Aberdeen Court, South Bend, Ind., died following a lengthy illness at 11:16 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14 in her residence. Mrs. Barna was born on July 30, 1922 in Mishawaka, Ind., to James and Martha (Habib) Kalil and was a lifetime area resident.
  On Aug. 15, 1946 in South Bend, as Helen M. Kalil, she married John J. Barna, who survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Janet (Thomas) Hall of South Bend and Karen (Gregory) Petsovich of Bridgman, Mich.; five grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Hall, both of Indianapolis, Ind., and Vanessa, Wynn, and Maxwell Petsovich, all of Bridgman; and by two sisters, Mary Kalil and Josephine Creevey, both of Mishawaka.
  She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Mickels; and by two brothers, Peter and Louis Kalil. Mrs. Barna was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the V.I.P. Senior Group of the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, in St. Jude Catholic Church with Rev. Paul McCarthy officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, where a wake prayer will be said at 7 p.m.
