Note: 1918 - The terrible Spanish Influenza hits Chautauqua Co., Kansas and the first to die is Josie, one month later Roy dies and finally son Richard who is only 4 years old dies. Only son Rex survives this horrible disease. This was so terrible there were no funerals held, people were taken and buried right away.
