Note: Florence attended business college in Duluth, following which she went to Billings, Montana, and worked for a brief period for her brother-in-law Charles Wilhelm at his real estate office. When she returned to Washburn, she got a job at the DuPont plant at Barksdale as a secretary She caught the train each day to Barksdale and the conductor would hold the train for her while all the men aboard would kid her about being late. One of them was Roger Foltz, a chemist, whom she married. After her marriage, she moved to Gibbstown, New Jersey, and then to Louviers, Colorado, as Roger was transferred from one DuPont plant to another. In 1931, they returned to Lockport, New York, where she lived until her death. During the 1950s, she resumed working as a secretary at a local oil company.
