 MRS. SALLIE E. CARTER
 Mrs. Sallie Elizabeth Carter, a resident of Topeka for many years, died Monday at her home, 1217 Kansas, following an extended illness. She was born in Leon, Iowa, October 14, 1866, and came to Kansas at the age of 23 years. She was married to the late John J. Carter, March 20, 1890. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
 Mrs. Carter is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Dorothea Brooks, Mrs. Lucille Emerson, and Miss Ruth E. Carter, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Will Fletcher of Leon, Iowa, and Mrs. Mary J. Lillard of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Henry Van Nostrand of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Lem Van Nostrand of Leon, Iowa; and six grandchildren, Larry Brooks, Jr., Maxine Brooks, Jacqueline Brooks, Helen Emerson, Kenneth Emerson, and Dorothy Emerson, all of Topeka.
