Note: from the Mail and Breeze, Jan. 2, 1903: Dover --- A surprise party was held at the residence of Mr. Harvey Flickinger on Monday evening in honor of Miss Gertrude Flickinger. A very enjoyable evening was spent by all present. from the Topeka Daily Capital, Monday, May 5, 1975, page 18: Mrs. Gertrude May Lyttle, 92, 1205 W. 29th, died Sunday at Brewster Place where she had been about five years. She was born Dec. 29, 1882, near Dover, and spent her life in the Dover and Topeka communities. She formerly lived at 4406 W. 29th Terrace. She was a member of Central Congregational Church, the Pansy Club, and Beulah Chapter No. 34, Order of Eastern Star, and was a life member of Social Order of Beauceant. She formerly was a practical nurse in Topeka several years. She was married to Paul Lyttle Oct. 2, 1907, at Dover. He died Jan. 16, 1963. Survivors include a son, Merrill Lyttle, Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Reece and Mrs. Irma Setnor, both of Topeka, and Mrs. Leta Henry, Carson City, Nev., a grand-daughter, and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery.
