Cox and wife and Corine Taylor of Manhattan spent Sunday here. from the Alma Signal-Enterprise, August 24, 1944: Harveyville --- E.N. Cox and wife spent the week-end here and took back a load of their household goods. They have purchased a home at 1226 Thurston. from the Manhattan Mercury Chronicle, April 7, 1953, page 3: Mr. Edward N. Cox, died at 4:15 today at his home at 1226 Thurston at the age of 79. Born December 13, 1873, at Harveyville, Mr. Cox lived there until 1942 when he moved to Manhattan. He was a retired farmer and a member of the IOOF lodge at Harveyville. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Clara E. Cox of the home; a daughter, Mrs. D.C. Taylor, 1018 Bluemont; his step-mother, Mrs. Maggie Cox, Topeka; a brother, Raymond Cox, Long Beach, California; a sister, Miss Mildred Cox, Topeka; a half-brother, Aaron Cox, Burlington, Iowa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Thursday at the Courser chapel. Rev. J. Wilbur Curry will conduct the rites. Interment will be in Sunset. ( transcriber's note: Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan)
