Dora Daisy Sheets, the daughter of John and Nettie Gough Hunt, was born November 4, 1899 at Flagler, Colorado. She passed away Thursday, March 12, 1992at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center, having reached the age of 92 years, 4 months and 8 days.
When she was three years of age, the family moved from Colorado to Beverly, Kansas. Dora had always lived in the Beverly and Tescott areas until moving to Salina in 1988 to make her home with her daughter. She had been a resident of the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center since January, 1992.
On July 4, 1917 she was united in marriage to Ray Sheets at the Methodist parsonage in Tescott. He preceded her in death in 1964.
Dora attended the Tescott United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Lola Koelling of Salina; a son Norman Sheets of Aloha, Oregon; a sister, Beulah Magers of Puyallup, Washington; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-granddaughter.
Dora was also preceded in death by her daughter Evelyn in 1943; her parents; twin great-grandchildren; five brothers and 5 sisters.
The family suggests memorials to the Tescott United Methodist Church or the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center.
