R.E. Gough has rented the Geo. H. Allen farm north of town, formerly occupied by H.L. Lance. Gene says he will raise the usual amount of watermelons on the place.
From the Frankfort Index, March 9, 1967:
Robert Eugene Gough (was) born December 7, 1873 in Marion County, Centralia, Illinois, and passed away February 26, 1967 at Marysville, Kansas, at the age of 93 years and 2 months.
He was married to Sadie Ferris of Frankfort in 1896. To this union four children were born, Charles Gough, Toronto, Kansas; Ruth Walters, Manhattan, Kansas; twin girls, deceased.
He was the youngest of thirteen children, one sister, Amy Hildreth, Denver, Colorado, survives. He also leaves to mourn 2 grandchildren, Clifford Walters, Manhattan, Kansas, and John Gough, Joplin, Missouri. 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, one son-in-law, Ted Walters and one daughter-in-law, Effie Gough and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services were held Wednesday, March 1, 1967 at Padden Funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Burial in the Frankfort cemetery. Rev. Coyne Gifford officiated.
