 Margaret long
 Margaret Ada Long was born October 1, 1916, at Beverly, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Lulie L. Cassel Gough. She grew up at Beverly and attended grade school and graduated from high school at Beverly.
 She was united in marriage to Mayo Long on September 20, 1934, at Salina. They moved to the Marshall-Nemaha County area and the Centralia area after they were married.
 She attended the Centralia united methodist Church and was a charter member of the United Methodist Women's group. She had been a member of a home demonstration unit, as well as other social groups. She was employed as a certified nurse's aide at the Frankfort Care Home for four years, and County View estates Care Home of Seneca for 10 years.
 Margaret died July 23, 1998, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca at the age of 81.
 She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Gough and Ben Gough; a daughter, Twila Long, Oct. 31, 1980; and a grandson, Neil Long, at the age of 13.
 Survivors include her husband, Mayo of Centralia, two sons, Gerald Duane of Topeka, and Vernon of Topeka; five daughters, Marsha Davis of Centralia, Kathi Long-Price of Wichita, Deon Marie Schultz of Hutchinson, Retta Annette Schultz-Hall of Delaware, OH, and Cindy Smith of Clay Center; two sisters, Eva Long of Holton, and Martha White of Topeka; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held Monday, July 27, at the United Methodist Church in Centralia. Visitation was held Sunday evening at the Hayes-Popkess Funeral Home. Burial was in the Centralia Cemetery.
 Memorial contributions can be made to the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital or the Centralia EMT group, sent in care of the funeral home.
