a. Note:   According to his April 11, 1918 draft registration card, Clarence Peter Kaple was 41 years old, living at 18 Wells Street, a rail road conductor with Erie Rail Road, and married to Nellie Kaple. Not all of the information is legible, but he is noted to have had gray eyes and dark hair.

  In 1920, 42-year old Clarence P. and 43-year old Nellie M. Kaple were living at 18 Wells Street in Hornell City, New York with 10-year old daughter F. Audrey Kaple. He was a train man at the rail road for wages and had a mortgage on their home.

  According to his father's death certificate, Luther Kaple lived with Clarence and his family at 18 Wells Street after his wife died in 1922 until his own death in 1927.
  In 1930, they were still at 18 Wells Street, but 32-year old stepson Hugh Prior had joined the household. Clarence was steam locomotive trainmain with the rail road and Hugh was a sign painter. The home was valued at $4,300 and they owned a radio set.
