a. Note:   It was noted by great granddaughter Edna Engel that the Fischers bought land along Edgebrook Ave., Brookline, Pennsylvania in 3 sections amounting to over 17 acres. Edna also noted that some of the children were apparently taught to sew as their daughter, Helena, was listed as a seamstress on the 1880 census. Edna also reported that her cousin Marie Daugherty had met a man who said he had a suit made by Philipp Fischer.
 The pastor at Philipp Fischer's funeral was noted to be Gustav Lorch of the Birmingham United Church of Christ, Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania.
