Note: Rasmus Carl Therkelsen Gottlieb � was married in Sct. Pouls Kirken in
Copenhagen 1910 with his first love, the beautiful virgin Carla Dagmar Hagen,
and the year after in 1911 they had a son: Ejlert Karl Gottlieb � born 3. marts 1911 � died 11. jan. 1987. and the year after in 1912 a girl : Ingeborg Helene Gottlieb � born 31. juli � died 23. feb. 1985.
After Rasmus Carl Gottlieb had been in the danish military for some years, he went back to normal live, but he found it hard to get a job. � So finally he went to USA, New York in 1916. � When he had stayed and worked in Brooklyn, N.Y. for about a year, he went to HollyWood to get a job in the Film-Industry. � he was lucky to find a job as an actor in the days of SilentMovies, - and he got a job with Warner Brothers and later MGM, in short time he became a famous actor and worked with many other well Known actors as well. � One of them was Buster Keaton. Because of his fame, he changed his name to Karl DANE or Carl Dane.Unfortunately when the Silent Movies stopped, he lost his job as an actor in big Movies � and soon after he had no job and living.
Therefore he finally shot himself/committed suicide in HollyWood the 14. april 1934. �
But when the big company MGM, had learnt that one of their former famous actors had died, the big MGM payed his funeral, and it was a big event and very expensive.In his death he finally got great fame and dignity � And he has his own Stone in The Walk of Fame in HollyWood among other famous actors.
Back in Denmark his wife and two children, never saw their father � nor did his
brother Reignald Marius Gottlieb (my grand-father),
who after his education as mechanic/fitter/ electrician with special education, went to the main-land of Denmark, Jylland (where Horsens is situated).
After many interesting jobs as a very demanded Craftsman, and after he had been travelling all over in Jylland, he found his great love in life virgin Margrethe Sch�ler in the little town Give in the center of Jylland. She was leading a big dressmaker/workroom and she was indeed capabee, both in household and in the business-/labour market.
