He succeeds Charles J. LaMarre, who retired June 1. a native of Terre Haute, Ind., Kasameyer was graduated from Rose Polytechnic Institute with a mechanical engineering degree in 1928, and joined Edison the same year as a cadet engineer. In 1929 he was assigned duties in the company's stores department and transferred to buildings and properties as a technical engineer in 1935. He Was named assistant superintendent in 1954. He is a member of Kirk in the Hills church in Bloomfield township, the National Association of Building Owners and Managers, and Edgewood country club. Kasameyer lives at 6320 Worlington, Bloomfield Township. " --PK

  Obituary: Alfred Louis Kasameyer, 86, a retired Detroit Edison executive, died of liver cancer on Monday, Aug. 23, 1993, in his Bloomfield Township residence. He was born and educated in Terre Haute, Ind., and was a 1928 graduate of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, where he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Kasameyer started working at Detroit Edison in 1928 as a cadet engineer. During the next 44 years he worked his way up to Edison's manager of union relations. Prior to that final assignment he had been director of the company's department of properties and rights of way. He retired in 1972.
 He was an avid golfer with a great deal of stamina. "My father's standard routine was to play 18 holes of golf three to five times a week on foot," said his son, Paul W. Kasameyer "His score was often less than his age. And then he'd often come home and mow the lawn." Mr. Kasameyer enjoyed playing bridge and hunting. He was a member of the Birmingham Senior Men's Club. Also surviving is a second son, Robert A. Kasameyer; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a brother. His wife of 42 years, Frances Eagleson Kasameyer, died in 1977. A private burial in Grandlawn Cemetery, Detroit, precedes a noon memorial service Monday in the William R. Hamilton Bell Chapel, 820 E. Maple, Birmingham. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Southeastern Michigan, 16250 Northland Dr., Suite 212, Southfield, Mich., 48075, or to the Michigan Cancer Foundation, 110 E. Warren, Detroit, Mich., 48002.
