Emil Fiedler, Private of Company F of the 5th Regiment of Nebraska National Guard, who enlisted at Wymore, Nebraska on 24th of June 1916 to serve three years was honorably discharged, because he was not a citizen, in Lincoln, Nebraska on 12 April, 1917. "This soldier at time of enlistment called attention to the fact that his citizenship was in doubt but was advised that his enlistment would complete his citizenship."
