a. Note:   Douglas Marshall was born on 13 Jan 1925 in Staples, MN. His social security card was issued in South Dakota. In 1930 he and his brother were living with his grandmother, Nellie and her husband, Frank Haining, in Dunham Washington, near Seattle. His nickname was Bud and he was never married. Bud was in the Air Force. His last post was in Duluth. He stayed with Del Case and Alloueze until he got housing on base. Then Beatrice came to live with him. They moved to Brainerd when he started working for the State Patrol. His mother lived with him from his retirement in 1967 until her death in 1976. Bud was an avid bowler with many 300 games to brag about.
 Bud died of acute myocardial infarction on 22 January 1982 in Brainerd. The obituary read: "Douglas L. (Bud) Marshall, 57, of Route 11 Brainerd, died this morning at his home. Mr. Marshall was born Jan. 13, 1925. He had served as a radio communications officer for the State Patrol in Brainerd since 1967, and was a retired member of the U.S.Air Force.� He was buried at Baxter City Cemetery on 26 Jan 1982
