Article Title: Pioneer Dies at Santa Clara
According to word received by friends here, Edward George Larkey, a member of a pioneer family of Walnut Creek, died at his home in Santa Clara August 20. Larkey was born 58 years ago on the Larkey ranch, about two miles from Walnut Creek and was a brother of the late Dr. Lon Larkey of Oakland. For several years Larkey had been suffering from an infection of the leg which resulted in amputation. This failed to cure it, as it spread higher and finally resulted in death.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Emma hale Larkey, a son, Hale Larkey, and daughter, Miss Ruth Larkey, a mother, Mrs. Martha Larkey of Oakland and four sisters, Mrs. Ada Tregalon of Berkeley, Mrs. J. Jordon of Carmel, Mrs. Ora Aiken of Berkeley and Mrs. A. E. Needham of Suisun.
