Nicholas Right Counsil, son of James D. and Sarah Angeline Counsil, was born Oct. 26, 1863 in Hamilton County IL. near McLeansboro, and died May 04, 1945 at his home in West Frankfort, IL at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 8 days. He spent his boyhood on a farm in Hamilton Co. and as a young man taught school in the country schools throughout the county.
He was a great lover of good music and taught music in special sessions held throughout the county. He was converted and became a member of the Bethel Methodist Church in Hamilton County about 50 years ago and remained a member until his death.
On March 31, 1889, he married Julia Ann Francis Wheeler. To this union six children were born. The family moved to West Frankfort, IL. in 1913, where he was employed by The C.B. & O. and C.E.&E.I. railroads for about 20 years, retiring from active duty about 10 years ago.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John of Springfield IL.; three daughters, Mrs. George Nipper of West Frankfort IL; Mrs. Joel Prince of McLeansboro, IL, Mrs. Herman Peek of Dekalb IL.; a brother Charles Counsil of Sexton MO.; two sisters, Mrs. George Oglesby of Eldorado IL; Mrs. Laura Hines of Chicago IL.; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death, Cecil and Cloyd.
He will long be remembered as a faithful husband, kind and loving father and a true and loyal neighbor by his family, friends, and many acquaintances through Hamilton and Franklin counties.
May God who has seen fit to take him from us, give us grace to bear our great loss. I HAVE COPY OF OBIT THAT WAS IN PAPER IN NOTEBOOK.
