There are 2 Rootsweb genealogies showing close birthdates (12 Dec/18 Oct 1819) for her & one showing death date (30 Aug 1891) suggesting gravestone or Bible source. One of the Rootsweb genealogies gives John Lanning & Sarah Fuller as parents; the other, parents blank but an 1891 death date. Wells Co. Cemetery index has death date 1891 so she would have been living at the time Rueben letter was written. Possibly he didn't know her status, possibly she's not one of Isaac & Martha's. Guess I'll keep notes, but now they are no longer scribbled.

 Died.
Sunday morning at half past four at her home two and one-half miles South of Bluffton, Mrs. Lewis Buckles. She was born in Guerns(e)y county, Ohio, Oct. 18, 1819, and was 71 years, 8 months and 12 days old at the time of her death. She resided at the place of her birth until 1862 when she removed to Wells county where she has since lived. Her maiden name was Julia Lanning; she was married to James Anderson, Sep. 28, 1843, who lived until Sep. 13, 1845. The children by this marriage were A. B. Anderson and Justice J. S. Anderson of East Nottingham. In 1876 she was married to Lewis Buckles, who still survives her. She has been a member of the church ever since she was twenty years of age, and at the time of her death was a member of Prairie Methodist Episcopal church. She took sick four weeks ago with kidney affection and was faithfully attended by Dr. Springstead of this city. Her funeral occurred Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. J.H. Walters, of Poneto. She was followed to her grave by a large number of neighbors and friends.
