Note: 1. The Schweppe Farm in Sawyerville, ILL was my favorite place to be. We had family dinners there once a week, and I'd visit them in between times. Pearl would see me coming and put a pot of coffee on and we'd sit and talk. She would tell me stories about her family and show me her newest crochet project or what she read in the papers, or mainly... just to be together and laugh and share things. Back in the 1960's when I met her, I didn't know the rest of the family. My Dad had just died and I just felt lost. I took a walk and saw the horses in the pasture and stopped to watch them. Ted found me and knew I had been crying. I didn't want to make things harder for anyone else, so that walk was my coming to terms with no Dad in my life. It was like I lost my Dad and found more people to love me, in the same day. Both always held a special place in my heart for being so kind, not just to me. They were the kindest people I ever met, to anyone and would try to help anyone they could. That is my idea of success in life. Crystal
