William McClelland, son of John and Winnie (Vickers) McClelland, was born February 23, 1846 in Florida. He is shown on the 1850 and 1860 census of Hillsborough County. William McClelland served in the Civil War as a private in Captain William J. Turner's Company, 11th Florida Infantry, CSA. He enlisted April 20, 1862 in Hillsborough County. William McClelland married Isabelle Willingham Driggers on July 10, 1866 in Polk County. He was a farmer and citrus grower living west of Ft. Meade.
Isabelle Mcclelland died March 1901. William McClelland died June 8, 1901 in Tampa, Florida and is buried in the Plesant Grove Cemetery , Polk County, Florida. His wife is probably buried there also, in an unmarked grave.
