Note: Got the feeling that her parents are Hendry Wardrop and Lillias Hamilton on the grounds of the use of the name Lillias which may be after her mothe. They had a son, William, who was born in March 1743 which would tie in with the possible birth date of Lillias. Equally possible is that Lillias was named after Lillias Dunlop of House Hill who may have been the landowners. It was not uncommon for tenants to name their children after their landlords.
Little is known about Lillias other than the fact that she died in 1802 at a relatively young age. She is buried in Kirk Lane cemetery but there are few other clues. Her birth does not appear in OPRs which is hardly surprising since daughters were often not registered in the OPR. It is likely that she worked on the farm where her hours were long and her role primarily one of completing the lighter agricultural tasks usually carried out by women and also providing for the men.
