a. Note:   Addie Harris used three forms of her first name. On her Marriage Affadavit, regarding her marriage to Fernando Isaac Knowles, her name is given as Addie Harris. Following his death, she married his brother, William C. Knowles. At that time, she used Adaline as her first name. On the Declaration for Widow's Army Pension (found in the Civil War Pension file of Fernando Isaac Knowles), dated July 12, 1865, she is listed as Adda, though she signed her name Addie. A subsequent Declaration for Widow's Army Pension, dated Feb. 1, 1866, is signed Adeline Knowles.
