 foreclosed by the mortgage co.
 The newspaper is the Renville Union from
 July 29, 1884. The property is to be sold on the 20th day
 of august, 1887 to satisfy the amount in default. The information about the property when he
 homesteaded was from an affidavit.

 her husband Jerry is a gr.grand son of Gilford & Lydia
  Gilford and Sarah Mary moved to a land patent in Hector, Renville County, Minnesota in 1876. They built a 12 x 14 house and established residence. At that time they had one son, Benoni. Four more children were born while they lived there. They raised corn, oats and wheat. They proved up on the homestead in 1882. (Later found the information that the land was foreclosed on in 1880)
 Gilford says on a Homestead Application that he is a widower in 1892. Sarah Mary died in 1889 in Morrison County, Minnesota
 Gilford had a new homestead in Morrison County, Minnesota, proving up in 1898. He married Lydia Fuller and Jennie and Richard were born in Randall, Morrison County, Minnesota. Lydia and Gilford did not stay married. He married Minnie Houghton in 1898....Lydia also remarried........to George Frayer.
 On the 1880 census for Renville County, Minnesota there is named with Gilford and Sarah Mary, "a brother", Jefferson 12 years old.
 This is Wm. Jefferson, Sarah Mary's brother.
