Note:   Richard Lee Roberts. Sr., age 73, of Cranfills Gap, passed away suddenly on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at his residence. A memorial service was at held Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, in the Cranfills Gap First United Methodist Church. Mr. Roberts was born June 25, 1938, in Hubbard, Texas. He was a son of the late Jaye Hugh Roberts and Bessie Marie Yates Roberts. Richard was raised in Dallas where he worked for many years as a sheet metal worker. He moved to Cranfills Gap after his retirement. He was married to Nita Sue Parish in 1955 and she preceded him in death in 2001. He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Middleton of Stigler, Okla.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Miller of Irving and his significant other friend, Kathern Caughron. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Roberts, II and a daughter, Carla Jayne Owens.
