"An early merchant here was Solomon Chandler, who kept a store near here in 1791. He lived in the John Reed house." Note: Could this be a brother of Joseph Chandler b. 1760? Joseph's son Solomon B. was b. in Rhinebeck,Dutchess,NY 1796.
1831: BURIAL: Ohio County Records Page 417 Heritage Quest micro-film # 121-108. Joseph buried with wife Abigail. Need to check to see if this is the correct Joseph & Abigail. There is a stone for Joseph Chandler Sr in Lot #55 E next to the stone for Dorothy wife of Gabriel Beebe in the South Orwell Cemetery and listed in the cemetery record. The Beebe's are the parents of his daughter-in-law Naomi Beebe Chandler wife of Bezailial Solomon Chandler.The date of death for Joseph Sr. is September 18, 1831 as shown on the stone. No record of wife Abigail.
