Note: Mary South after her mother Mattie Clark Bus h died with TB at the sanatorium in Logan County, Arkansas . Mary Clark South was Mattie's sister. Doxie was said to h ave taken the South name (not legally) and she is said to h ave considered Emmett South as her brother.
The Marshal South household on the 1920 Clay County, Arkans as lists 12 year old Dixie South as a daughter and 15 yea r old Emmett as a son. Also in the household is father-in-l aw C.L. South, mother-in-law Fronia, and 2 1/2 year old nie ce, Lorin.
