 LouAda Arata Reynold
Passed away on June 19, 2005 following a brief illness. LouAda was born on August 5, 1938 in Napa, California where she was raised and educated. LouAda's great-grandparents, Luigi and Philomena Arata, were pioneer settlers in the Napa Valley in 1866. Although she has lived in Sacramento for the past thirty-three years, Napa was alway her home and where she will return. LouAda is survived by her devoted husband of forty years, John F. Reynolds; daughter Leslie Bailey and husband Patrick; daughter, Lorrie Peterson and husband, Jeff; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Ryan and Holly. LouAda was overjoyed to learn that Lrrie and Jeff expect twins, a boy and a girl, this fall. Also surviving LouAda are numerous cousins, many of whom continue to reside in the Napa Valley. Predeceasing LouAda were her parents, Louis and Aida (Murbach) Arata as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins who she has missed dearly. She was always generous with her family stories that will continue to be passed down to her grandchildren sdo that they will know the rich heritage of the Arata and Murbach families. Those of us who were lucky enough to be part of LouAda's life will probably miss her sense of humor most of all. As an example, Mom left a note of instruction to those of us who will mourn her passing, which in part reads that she does not desire formal funeral services but would prefer that we, "throw a funny party, go parasailing, or do whatever you have to do to make yourselves feel okay." Our hearts hurt, but they are full; we are comforted by the wonderful memories that will carry us through and allow us to continue to feel her presence in all that we do. Her time with us was not long enough, but it was full. If we were asked, the charity of LouAda's preference it would be Shriners Hospitals for Children. She would be just as likely however, to suggest that an ice cream with family be enjoyed in her honor.
