Notes
a. Note:   Mildred is remembered as a very warm, sweet and motherly woman. She lived in the city of Talladega with her husband until his death in 1916. At that time, Mildred and her 4 year old daughter, Elizabeth George (named for Mildred's mother Lizzie Sims) moved back to live at the family plantation, St. Ives, in Renfroe, with her sisters Claudia and Eunice. It is not known exactly when Mildred and Elizabeth George built their home, located not far from St. Ives (and currently owned by Judy Harvell, Mildred's Grand Niece). One can assume that after the large home (St. Ives) burned in 1937 Mildred and Elizabeth George might have built their new home. A second home, much smaller, was built on the original home site and it is known that Claudia and Eunice lived in the smaller home. (That home is still in the Sims family however, is rental property.)
At Mildred new home, she kept a beautiful home and yard. She must have been a hard worker and very resourceful to support herself and daughter. Memories of Mildred also include that she was a wonderful Southern cook and often invited her nieces and nephews for meals including fresh vegetables, fried chicken and other Southern fare.
