Note: Elizabeth George McDonald was the only child of Mildred Sims and her husband, John McDonald. Elizabeth George (her friends always called her by her first and middle name) was named for her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth George (Lizzie) Cruikshank Sims. Elizabeth George was only 4 when her father died (1916). At that time they were living in Talladega and shortly thereafter she and her mother moved to St. Ives to live with her Aunt Claudia and Aunt Eunice. It is also remembered that E. G. spoke with a "Scottish Brogue". We can assume she "inherited" that from her Father. Her term for her mother Mildred, was "Mither". E. G. never married. Memories include that she loved to visit and have company. And her faithful companion was a "big old Collie". It is remembered that she loved her dog; even after he accidently knocked her down and breaking or dislocating her shoulder. E. G. lived with her mother until her Mothers death in 1953. I assume she lived alone until her death at age 66 in 1978.
