a. Note:   Roy was the beloved husband of Lalia Sims. They lived at 200 Jemison Street, Talladega, Alabama.
 Roy was employed as a rural mail carrier for 25 years on Route 1, Talladega. Roy was interested in outdoor life and spent a great deal of time fishing. Lalia remained at their home until her death.
  While Roy and Lalia did not have children of their own, they were both loved by all of their nieces and nephews. Roy and Lalia spent a lot of time traveling to Florida, where they had dear friends and Roy fished, and to Wyoming to visit with "Cousin Albert" Sims (James father; Henry Sims grandfather).
  Roy suffered a heart attack while fishing. He made it back to shore but subsequently died of heart failure at Citizens Hospital. Rev Oscar Mitchell, pastor at Hepzibah and Dr. William Crowe, First Presbyterian Church, officiated at funeral.
  Active pallbearers were George Porter, Jr., Albert Hethcox, Billy W. Hethcox, Edward Nixon and Arthur F. Henley.
  Honorary pallbearers were Ed Rozelle, Louie Hubbard, John Roberts, Tom. R. Parker, Dr. C. L. Salter, Dr. J. A. Sims (son of Dr. Albert G. Sims and Kate Sims), Dexter Parks, Ernest Harrison, Tobe Washam, Turner Jones, Kyser Leonard and Fred Leonard.
