Note: Baptized "Catharina Alice Goodman" January 25, 1863, at St. Paul's Union Lutheran and Reformed Church, Numidia, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, date of birth September 23, 1862, parents William and Rosina Goodman, sponsors George Yeager and wife. (1) "MRS. CATHERINE GEORGE. Mrs. Catherine George, 130 West Fairview street, Bethlehem, died at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at Dr. Betts' Hospital, Easton, aged 61 years. She was admitted to the hospital on May 23 for medical treatment. Mrs. George was the widow of Lee George. Her husband died nine years ago. She was born at New Media, Pa., on September 28, 1863, and was a daughter of the late Isaac and Amanda Leiby Goodman. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry Haas, Detroit, and Mrs. Robert Werst, Bethlehem, and by six sons: William George, Williamstown, Pa.; Clarence George, Tamaqua; Oscar George, Lancaster, Benjamin George, Middleport; Isaac George, Easton; and Robert George, Bethlehem. She also leaves two brothers, Ira Goodman, Mahanoy City, and Rev. Benjamin Goodman, Freemont, Pa., and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Rodarmel, Mt. Carmel, Pa. She was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church, Bethlehem. The body was removed to the home of her son-in-law, 130 West Fairview Street, Bethlehem. Interment will be made at Centralia, Pa., on Tuesday. (Note that the birthdate and parentage for Catherine given in this obituary are not in agreement with Source 1.
