Franz was raised by his father as his mother passed on when he was only 5. Later his father remarried and his new wife had beat Franz. His father quickly divorced her on the grounds that she was beating his son.
When Franz was 16 he was drafted by the German army. He spent most of his young adult life as a soldier and POW. After WWII he immigrated to England to work. He lived in a Manor House in Swindon just off Slipper Lane. Beside it was a farm in which he met his wife Evelyn. One of the local farmer's pigs got loose and Evelyn tried to catch it.   Franz then immigrated to Sudbury, Ontario, Canada to work for Inco Ltd. Nickle was flourishing. Evelyn later joined him in Canada.
Franz worked for Inco for more than 30 years. He had 2 boys and 1 girl with Evelyn.
