a. Note:   William (Bill) Bauer was described by his brother, Frank, as a 'roamer'. He attended school in Uniontown, Pa. and was an excellent baseball player, playing semi-pro ball in the Uniontown area. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WW I, serving from May 19, 1918 until February 21, 1919 as a private in Battery D, 2nd Field Artillery. He never married.
  He was living in a hotel at 511 E. 6th Street (room 703), Los Angeles, Cal., on Oct. 21, 1938, when he took his own life by jumping from the building.

 Buried in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pa.
