The family was living at 4221 Howe Road when Barbara wa born. It lays on a north/south road, located south off E. Bristol Rd. about 1 1/2 miles
east of Dort Highway (M-54). At this address, Ellen Mary may have
started Kindergarden in the fall of 1927. School unknown.

McLANAHAN, Barbara Jean - of Grand Blanc {MI}, age 61, died Friday, March 25, 1988 at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm
Monday, March 28, 1988 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Rd., Rev.
Grant H. Wessel officiating. Suggested visiting hours will be from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm Sunday and from 2 pm until time of service Monday. Mrs. McLanahan was born in Flint {MI}, February 8, 1927 and was a resident of
the Flint area her entire life. She married Beverly (Mike) McLanahan,
June 25, 1949. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the
Hospice for Communities. Surviving are husband, Mike; 2 sons, Michael,
Bruce and wife Mary both of Flint; 2 daughters, Susan and husband, Jerry Wood of Naples, Florida, Jayne and husband David Bell of Flint; 7
grandchildren; 4 sisters, Ellen Artibee, Marge and husband Richard
Ayotte, Marion Rodgers all of Flint, Dorothy and Richard Hooper of
Florida; 6 brothers, John and Ann Simpson of Tawas, James and Phyllis,
Ron Simpson, Richard Simpson all of Flint, Don Simpson of Georgia, and
George Simpson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her brother, Robert Simpson, mother and father Robert and Clara Simpson.
