Note: y, Ohio". Mr. Barber started teaching in Brimfield at the age of seventeen and spent the summers engaged in farming. Mr. Barber was a Republican and served for 21 years as a justice of the peace, having been elected for seven consecutive terms. His last term expired in the spring of 1896. He also served for a number of years as a town trustee and served nine years as a school director.
