"Jo and Green Cook and their daughters Mollie, Pennie, and Beady are still in Pine Hill, Texas with Green's family. Jo is experiencing morning sickness as signs of her pregnancy gives hopes of a son.
By March of 1882 the memories of the Green Cook murder case three years ago came close to home for folks of Courtney Flats. Laura Hancock, Mary Downs, Daniel and Mollie Hearst and Rueben Burge are summoned to appear in Judge Parker's court the the May 1st hearing of Bud Cook. Bud Cook is nowhere to be found however and the trial is once again postponed. The lawmen that ride for Parker continue their search for the man wanted for murder of Dora Cook.
Green and Jo Cook are still living with the Cook family near Pine Hill with Green's parents, Jim and Mary Ann. Jo is expecting twins and should they be girls they have chosen the names Emma Arema and Minnie. Minnie is named after Minnie Downs the daughter of Jo's sister Mary Downs. Jo received word of Mary and John Downs first born a few months ago in the Chickasaw Nation, a daughter named Minnie.
On the 26th of April Jo gives birth to twin girls Minnie and Emma. Emma is born a healthy baby, but her sister Minnie is weak and dies at birth. Minnie is so small that Green's wedding ring slips easily over her arm."
