A copy of the divorce record was obtained from the Uintah County Clerk, Vernal, Utah 84078. The case citation record is "Rosa Tefft v. Joseph L. Tefft, Civil No. 677", which became final on 2 June, 1914. This record indicated that Joseph Tefft's last known residence was at Avon, [Powell County], Montana. This was where Joseph's brother Hugo lived for several years while employed as a ranch hand.
According to his obituary record, Joseph spent the last few years of his life living in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with his father, Perry Tefft. Joseph died in Great Falls, Montana while he was on his way to Minnesota to receive medical treatment.
The 1900 census indicates a birth date of September 1883 for Joseph. However, other documents, including the 1895 Kansas Census and the 1910 Federal Census, in addition to the birth certificate of his two daughters, seem to indicate that he was actually born in 1884. In addition, his parents were married in October 1883.
