Notes
a. Note:   Jean Baptiste godparents are Jean Baptiste Leclaire and Angelique Mailliotte. (source; Assumption Parish Record Book on film from LDS)
Jean Baptiste DeLisle was known as John or J.B. His god parents are Jean-Baptiste LeClaire and Angelique Maillot.
The Essex South, Township of Malden census of 1891indicate that JB's parents were born in Quebec.
In the 1980's decendants of Jack DeLisle petitioned to have the corner where the DeLisle's lived officially named DeLisle Corners. The area was also known as Lukerville when the Pare brothers owned operated a Post Office between 1912-1914. The Ontario Geographic Names Board officially changed the name in September 1980 to Delisle Corners. The spelling of the name DeLisle came into question but after reviewing the spelling the Board decided the official spelling would be Delisle. (source; Marsh Collection, DeLisle file)
