Served in Civil War CSA(Tennessee,then lst Arkansas Cavalry,advancing to rank of Adjutant General,lst Regmnt, Cherokee Mtd. Volunteers; A circuit riding Minister and later pastor of the Tahlequah church; and superintendent at the Cherokee Nation's numerous schools, & the Cherokee Orphan Asylum at Salina. Son of James Allen Thompson & Martha Lynch Thompson.
