Note: Obit from Altoona Mirror - May 1, 1961 Charles Quirin Of 3003 Pine Ave., died suddenly at his home at 9:30 a.m. today. His was born in Altoona on Jan. 14 1883, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Quirin, and retired as a freight engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1952 after 49 years of service. Mr. Quirin was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Knights of St. George. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ellen G. (Holland) Quirin, two sons, Vincent of Altoona and James of Monroeville,N.J., four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Kauffman of Philadelphia, Mrs. Helen Singiser of West Chester, Mrs. Dolores Smyers of Altoona and Mrs. Marjorie Andrike of Newton Falls, Ohio, four brothers, Peter of Ohio, John and Joseph of Altoona and George, 3 sisters, Mrs Margaret Kimmel of Ohio and Mrs. Mary Schraff and Mrs. Minnie Neff, both of Altoona, and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Stevens Mortuary, 1421 8th Ave.,after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
