Note: Obit from Altoona Mirror - August 4, 1977 Joseph A. Quirin Of 2007 12th Ave., died at 1:15 a.m. yesterday, Aug. 3, 1977,at Mercy Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr Quirin retired in 1953 from the Pennsylvania Railroad as supervisor of the E&M shop, with 48 years' service. He was born Feb. 12, 1888, in Altoona, a son of Peter and Caroline (Porta) Quirin, and married Helen Cecelia Parker, who died Aug. 2, 1971. Surviving are five children, Frederick J. and Regis M. of New York City, Mrs. Marguerite Deibert of Johnstown, Francis X. of Cliffside Park N.J., and Mrs. Helen (Wherle) White of Danville, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Wilhemina Neff of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Mrs. Mary C. Schraf of Altoona. Mr. Quirin was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and Holy Name Society, Knights of St. Joseph Society. Friends will be received in Stevens Mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
