a. Note:   Duluth (Minn.) News Tribune, February 18 and 19, 2003: "Mary O. Froberg. Mary O. Froberg, 93, of Carlton, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born June 9, 1909, in Holmesville, Neb. to Nels B. and Ida M. (Peters) Nelson and was a Carlton area resident since 1915. She was united in marriage to Everett Froberg on June 4, 1933 in Nemadji, Minn. Mary worked as a clerk for Isaacson's Food Market for 20 years. She was a member of J.M. Paine Memorial Presbyterian Church in Carlton where she was active with the Women's Assembly, served as a church elder for four years, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. To many, she was known as the 'Candy Lady' at Isaacson's Food Market. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Everett in 1991. She is survived by one son Jerry (Eunice) Froberg of Pasadena, Calif.; and one daughter, Marian (Russell) Zinter of San Antonio; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one step-grandchild. Visitation: 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service, Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in J.M. Paine Memorial Presbyterian Church, in Carlton, Rev. Loren Nelson officiating. Music will be provided by Gerald Shoberg as soloist and Kay Manty as organist. Interment services at Hillside Cemetery in Carlton in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to J.M. Paine Memorial Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet."
