a. Note:   The household of Andrew F. Gustafson was enumerated in Carlton, Carlton Co., Minnesota, on the 1900 Federal census. It consisted of Andrew, 32, wife Helma E., 22, son Carl A., three, and daughter Evalina A., one. Andrew and Hilma, who had both been born in Sweden, had been married five years; she had borne two children, both of whom were still living. He had emigrated in 1888 and was naturalized, and she had emigrated in 1885. He was a liquor agent; he rented their house.

  Carlton County Vidette, 18 April, 1908:
  "DEATH OF ANDREW GUSTAFSON.
  Andrew Gustafson died at his home in Carlton Sunday afternoon after a short illness[. He] was born in Sweden in 1866 and had been a resident of Carlton for twenty-one years.
  The aged parents of deceased reside in Sweden and two sisters and two brothers in this country survive him. A widow and five children mourn the loss of a kind and loving father whose many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved family. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church on Tuesday afternoon and burial was made in the Carlton cemetery.

  We desire to thank those who so kindly assisted during the illness and burial of our husband and brother.
